I did it!

Hey you guys! This is it! We’re back in touch!!!

The friend I was gonna meet up turned out to be sort of weird and depressing, so I won’t bore you with that. Needless to say I did not bump into Mr. Sync then. I started feeling really bummed and I DID NOT want to e-mail him, because remember, e-mails are lame.

So I had two last options: calling or sending him a text message on his mobile. I wasn’t feeling the random call out of the blue thing, it was making me nervous and I didn’t want to catch him off guard like that. So then. I grabbed myself together and texted him. I was so nervous! I walked through my living room back & forth for a whole 10 minutes, already deciding that if he didn’t respond, I’d totally move on and never look back again. But then the phone beeped!!!!

I quickly grabbed it and read the message … He was basically super happy to hear from me and offered to meet up. I was pretty shocked at how positive his response was and almost wanted to slap myself for not having done this sooner. I responded to his text, and then he suddenly called me.

We talked for about 15min I think. I don’t recall for sure because I lost all sense of time lol I didn’t set a date just yet. I told him I’d call him back and let him know. I just didn’t want to be that easy girl, because easy = not attractive. So I’ll let it simmer for a few days and then call him back lol

He was soooo warm and friendly on the phone, I can’t believe how easy this was. I’d love to meet up with him next week. I think he should be available, so yay!

I’ll definitely keep you guys posted. Someone already warned me that the butterflies may all die the second I see him, because apparently it can happen to people when they haven’t seen each other in so many years. So, I decided to approach this whole thing with an open mind and a “we shall see” attitude. I still got the flutters though, I can’t wait :-) )

An interesting twist

Published by Karrals
Filed under Life at its strangest

I have been so busy! I wish I could tell you what I’ve been up to, but I’m trying to keep this website as anonymous as possible. So I apologize for the lack of details.

Meanwhile, (and although I haven’t had the time to really take matters into my own hands just yet) things have taken a pretty funky turn.

About 2 or 3 weeks ago, I got back in touch with an old friend of mine by e-mail. He’s completely unrelated to Mr. Synchronicity, by the way. I have to admit I had tried to keep the Synchronicity guy out of my head in the past couple of months, because I really had too much going on already. Then as my old friend and I started writing to each other, I’ll admit that the thought of him actually being a nice potential boyfriend crossed my mind. Especially since he’s a lot more reachable and thus an easier target than Mr. Synchronicity and he’s not too bad looking either. I got a little carried away for a few days (lol), and immediately realized I had to cool off. I wanted to invite him out for lunch or coffee, but didn’t want to do this with the wrong state of mind. I’ve been single for months now, and I’m slowly starting to miss having a boyfriend. So I decided to give myself a few days to chill and figure out which direction I really wanted to go. He is an old friend after all, and he could simply remain a friend if I want to.

Then a quirky little synchronicity happened, which was surprisingly linked to  … my old friend!

The day I had decided to cool off for a few days, I had quickly read over the mails we had exchanged so far, and suddenly wondered where exactly he was living at the moment as he hadn’t mentioned it yet. Then I remembered him telling me 2 years ago that he had moved to a certain town not too far from here, and I randomly wondered what zip code that was. But I had to go and I couldn’t be bothered to look it up. so I closed my laptop and left. The next day, I received an e-mail from someone … it was a guy I had e-mailed a while back about a dining table for sale. The dining table was to be picked up by the buyer at his place, so I had asked him where exactly he was located. A few days passed, and as I got no response, I assumed that the table got sold and didn’t think more of it. So then, exactly one day after wondering about my old friend’s address, I got a message from this seller saying: “Hi, I’m so sorry for the delay. I’m in name of the town + zip code” – I gasped – There it was, right in front of me: the town and zip code I had been too lazy to look up the day before! The place where my old friend lives! Hah! I giggled. This was neat.

I jumped to conclusions and assumed: “Hey, this synchronicity thing must be pointing at whoever could be a good match for me. So it’s not necessarily all about one exclusive soulmate or something.” So I contacted my old friend and asked him if he wanted to meet up and grab something to eat together. (I also found it incredibly ironic how that one e-mail mentioning his town + zip code was actually about a DINING table). So anyway, we decided that a place next to his work would be the most practical, as my schedule is much more flexible than his. So he gave me his office address. It didn’t hit me right away, but I realized a few hours later that it is in fact only 2 streets away from where Mr. Synchronicity works. And on top of it, Mr. Synchronicity’s work is actually  right on my way there. I was a little baffled, and decided to look at a map and see if there was any other way to get there without passing in front of Mr. Synchonicity’s work. Well, there isn’t. It’s right there, and there’s no way to avoid it. My stomach cramped up a little as I realized that it all inevitably spins right back at him!!

My friend and I haven’t decided about the exact day yet, as I’m still pretty busy myself, and he’s got some stuff going on at the moment too. So it will probably be some time in the next few weeks. It would be the icing on the cake if I actually bumped into Mr. Synchronicity on my way there, but let’s not jump to conclusions yet. Whatever the case though, I’m sure this new series of events isn’t just a coincidence, and I’m pretty confident that there’s more to come.

New feature on Karrals: Polls

Published by Karrals

Hey everybody! This blog has really grown a lot since I first started, and the number of regular readers is constantly growing. I was looking at it today, and realized we could have a mine of information here. So I decided to start posting polls once in a while.

  1. First. Why polls? Well, we’re all here because we’re looking for answers, and they’re obviously not out there (yet). I initially created this blog to share my experience and figured that if I was lucky I might even get some interesting feedback. Now I realize there’s so many of us out there, all looking for the same answers! I’m not claiming I’ll ever be able to make total sense of it, but my analytical nature makes me want to gather as many details as I can, and perhaps we’ll be able to draw some interesting conclusions.
  2. Second. There is no obligation to respond. However, if you’re here because you have experienced synchronicities, your answers would be very valuable as they might help us shed some light on the subject.
  3. Third. Everything is anonymous. There’s no trick here, and I have no way of knowing who answered what. All I’m interested in is the answers, not where they come from :-)

We’ll start with a basic one: are you male or female? I have a slight feeling most of my visitors are girls/women. And I’m wondering whether this phenomenon occurs more to women or men, or equally to both.

Are you male or female?

There will be more polls in the future. I’ll post them between my regular updates, and hopefully we’ll be able to gather lots of responses over time.

Thanks a lot if you participate! Your answers are greatly appreciated.

Still Running in Circles

Published by Karrals

Well, 2 months have passed since my last post. It has been a busy Summer for me, so I admit I haven’t had a whole lot of time to focus on this. Before I continue, I want to apologize to the people I haven’t responded to yet. I got a few lovely private messages, and I want you to know I read every single one of them. Thank you :)

Now, as far as my situation is concerned: our common friend has lead to nothing. She’s no longer in touch with him, so yeah. Last week, I reconsidered my whole “I’d rather die than send an e-mail” rule. Not sure what triggered it, but it suddenly popped into my head that it might not be SUCH a bad idea after all. I wrote a draft and let it simmer for a few days, then showed one of my best friends who actually found it surprisingly good … it was short and casual. Just a simple hello and how are you doing type of thing.

But I don’t know. Still. E-mails are so easy to ignore. And I know he’s not really a computer person, so he could end up only checking his box in 6 months, and if it’s one of those stupid boxes that auto delete messages after 30 days, I’ll be left wondering forever and it will only drive me crazier not to know whether he purposely didn’t respond or what.

So then. I might give our geographical closeness a shot (is that even a word?). There’s a place right next to his work, where I used to have lunch on a regular basis in the past. I’m starting to think that picking up this old habit might push my luck a little. And physically bumping into someone generally has a bigger impact than a random text. I know that totally sounds stalkerish though. I feel like a creep for considering this, but it’s the best I can come up with right now … **sigh**

I had such a panicking thought yesterday: as I was staring at my little e-mail draft, I tried to imagine what kind of response I could end up getting. At first I imagined a quick “hey, nice to hear from you “, and then it slowly drifted to “Oh hey, I’m doing great! I’m about to get married!”, and then “Amazing! I just got married and I’ll soon be a dad”. I think I slightly hyperventilated for a minute. **shudders**

The “signs” have stopped, by the way. No more synchronicities since July. Hmm …

A song for you all

Published by Karrals

This song’s been a hit on my radio for a while now. I never actually paid attention to the lyrics until yesterday, and found it quite funny how it would be the perfect theme song for us all here lol

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.
